Trivia Photo of the Week

OK, the last two Trivia Photos have proven to be too easy for you astute college football fans, so we've stepped it up a notch. Can you name this former PAC 10 player (and his PAC 10 team), who after his professional career was over and he was voted into the Hall of Fame, the entire league retired his number?

  1. Is it "The Flying Dutchman" Johnny Kitzmiller from Oregon??

  3. Whatta stumper man! I am drawing a blank, not a PAC 10 history buff. Helmet looks gold-UCLA? Oregon? Could be silver-Washington? Way back when they didn'thave masks Idaho was a member.
    You got me dude!

  4. Lot of great guesses this week guys, but for the first time nobody guessed correctly. The answer is UCLA's Jackie Robinson (yes, THAT Jackie Robinson!). Robinson was UCLA's first athlete to win varsity letters in four sports; baseball, basketball, football and track. As you know, Robinson went on to a Hall of Fame career in Major League Baseball. On June 4, 1972, the Dodgers retired Robinson's #42, but on April 15, 1997, Robinson's #42 was retired by Major League Baseball. No future player for any MLB team can wear it. Next week's Trivia Photo of the Week will be a little easier, I promise.

  5. Why I otta....! You know, I was looking at his picture thinking he sure looked familiar dangit. So I did know and recognize the face, just didn't think it thru. As I was just re-reading the question just now, I noticed you didn't specify very much in the clues, very tricky way to illicit assumptions.
